Erik ten Hag could use his connections to Ajax FC to recruit some serious talent for his new club Manchester United.
Both current and former Ajax players have been linked heavily to United in past weeks. This is because of the attraction of playing for a manager with the same footballing philosophy that they were developed with.
This summer transfer window is a massively important one in Manchester in order to kick off the 2022/23 season on the front foot.
With Paul Pogba and others on their way out of the door at Old Trafford, there will be many holes left in United's starting eleven.
These four players, if signed, could fill those spots with great success.
FRENKIE DE JONG
FC Barcelona - Center-midfielder - 25 years old
The signing of Frenkie de Jong could bring great stability to United's midfield that has been lackluster in recent seasons with the likes of Fred and McTominay. With Nemanja Matić already transferred to Jose Mourinho's AS Roma, it is important to acquire more depth in the midfield positions.
Free Agent - Center-midfielder - 30 years old
Although he never played under Erik ten Hag, Eriksen was developed at Ajax early in his career. As a signing, Eriksen would differ from de Jong because of age and experience. Eriksen's value lies in his leadership ability as well as production.
He scored one goal and assisted four in only 11 appearances for Brentford this season.
Ajax FC - Center-back - 21 years old
After initially pursuing center-back partner Jurrien Timber, United could be forced to pivot to Lisandro Martinez. Ajax do not plan to lose both defenders, but Timber is still on the top of United's list above Martinez.
A young, promising defender would be a sight for sore eyes at the Theater of Dreams. If they secure a signature from either Ajax defender, it will massively improve their defensive outlook.
Ajax FC - Right winger - 22 years old
Antony is more of a reach than the other players discussed. Nothing has been concretely offered from Manchester United, yet they are in need of a new option in attacking positions.
Antony would bring pace, dynamism, and flair. A lineup of Antony and Jadon Sancho could liven up United's attack in an exciting way.
